V-Control Pro Release Notes

Version 3.3

Version 3.3 is the first public release of version 3.3. It includes D-Control Basic and all the changes from version 3.2.

Added

  • Added D-Control Basic for Pro Tools. A D-Control Main and up to two D-Control Fader Modules provide up to 32 channels of control. See the 3.3.0.14 notes below for details.
  • Added automatic updates. V-Control Pro checks for a new version once a day and can install it for you. A new Check for Updates... menu item checks immediately.
  • Added a What's New window that describes what changed in the version you just installed, with a Read More button that opens the online release notes. It opens once after an update, and any time from the What's New... menu item.
  • Added Help / Create Customer Support Ticket... on macOS and Windows. It sends a system report to Neyrinck and opens a support request in your web browser, filled in with your computer details and with the report attached. Add your name, email, and a description, then send it. If you do not send the request, the report is deleted after 7 days.
  • Added Help / Create System Report... on macOS and Windows. It saves the same report to your Desktop to attach to a support ticket yourself. The report contains your V-Control Pro and computer details, license status, setups, Pro Tools MIDI settings, and the last two days of the log. It replaces the Show Log File item.
  • Added a License menu with Activate License... and Deactivate License..., and Activate and Deactivate buttons in the About box. Sign in to iLok in your browser, then activate a license to this computer or to an iLok key, or deactivate it to move it to another computer.
  • Added a Help menu with Open User Guide, Open Troubleshooting Guide, Create Customer Support Ticket..., and Create System Report....
  • Added a User Guide button to the details for each surface, DAW, and setup. It opens the guide in your default web browser, replacing the built-in Setup Guide tab, which could not display modern pages. V-Window and V-Control MIDI Mode now have a User Guide button as well.
  • The Setups window now marks surfaces, DAWs, and setups that are offline with (offline).
  • The Windows installer now offers to launch V-Control Pro when it finishes.

Changed

  • V-Control Pro has a new look. The Setups window, Preferences, About box, and dialogs use a new design with updated colors and controls, roomier detail pages, and the User Guide button at the top right.
  • The V-Control Pro menu is reordered: Setups, Preferences, About, License, Help, Check for Updates, What's New.
  • V-Control Pro now requires macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later. The installer will not install on earlier macOS versions.
  • Help and setup guide links now open the current online documentation. Setups saved with earlier versions are updated to the new links.
  • The startup notice that V-Control Pro runs in the menu bar now appears on every launch until you select Don't show this again.

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where V-Control Pro could fail to launch, or start up unlicensed, when set to open automatically at login.
  • FaderPort 8, FaderPort 16, FaderPort V2, and ioStation 24c with Pro Tools: holding Rewind or Fast Forward did not rewind or fast forward. Pressing Rewind and Fast Forward together still returns to zero.
  • ProControl Fader Pack with Cubase and Nuendo: the fader pack now releases properly to MIDI Mode. Previously controls drove both MIDI Mode and the Cubase mixer, and faders and displays were left stale when leaving MIDI Mode.
  • macOS: V-Control Pro could quit unexpectedly when an Ethernet controller's network adapter was removed, such as unplugging a USB or Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter. This affects ProControl, D-Command, D-Control, and C24.
  • macOS and Windows: installers could leave files locked by a V-Control Pro that did not quit. They now wait for it to exit.
  • Windows: fixed a crash when quitting V-Control Pro.
  • C24, Control 24, D-Command, and D-Control help now open their own guides, and the V-Control MIDI Mode guide link works for setups saved with earlier versions.

Added

FaderPort 8/16 with Pro Tools

  • Zoom is now a navigation mode. Pro Tools HUI zoom is enabled automatically.
  • Added bank offset choices so more than one FaderPort can be used at the same time.
  • Shift + Marker opens and closes the Pro Tools Memory Locations window.
  • Shift + Touch / Write / Read performs Write to Start / Write to All / Write to End.
  • Shift + Solo resets the channel's fader, or its pan in Pan mode. Shift + encoder push resets the selected track's pan.
  • Hold Shift while touching a fader for fine fader control.

Other Surfaces and DAWs

  • Added Bank 25-32 for D-Command Fader Modules with Pro Tools.
  • Added support for Mixbus 11, 12, and 13 on macOS.

Changed

  • FaderPort 8/16 mode buttons switch between modes more consistently.
  • The FaderPort 8/16 Track Browser requires Pro Tools 2024 or later. It skips hidden tracks and tracks in closed folders, and banks to the selected track without fader jumps.
  • Pro Tools scripting is updated for Pro Tools 2025.10 and is disabled for Pro Tools 2022 and earlier.

Fixed

  • FaderPort V2 / ioStation 24c V-Window works again.
  • The legacy V-Control Pro 1 iPad app works again without a license.
  • Raven and the legacy V-Control Pro 1 iPad app showed blank track names.
  • FaderPort 8/16: fixed pan display for Routing Folder tracks, restoring the previous mode after an alert, inserts mode on FaderPort 16, and the track browser when banked before the first track.
  • Fixed Pro Tools version detection on Windows.
  • Fixed crashes when closing or switching setups and plug-in editors.

[3.2.0.25] - 2026-02-23

Version 3.2.0.25 supports all surfaces. Earlier 3.2 pre-releases were for FaderPort 8/16 only.

Added

FaderPort 8/16 with Pro Tools

  • Added plug-in parameter editing in Plug-in mode. Parameter names and values appear on the displays, faders control continuous parameters, and Select buttons control on/off parameters. FaderPort 16 uses the right eight strips. FaderPort 8 uses all eight strips.
  • Sends mode shows the send letter and destination (for example A: Verb) and shows pre-fader sends in inverted text. Shift + Select toggles a send between pre and post. The wheel steps to the next or previous send, and the last-used send is remembered.

Other Surfaces and DAWs

  • Added plug-in editing for D-Command and Command 8 with Pro Tools. Plug-in editing on C24, Control 24, Command 8, ProControl, and D-Command switches encoders to Fixed mode automatically.
  • Added Flip mode for sends on Command 8 with Pro Tools.
  • Added ProControl support for DaVinci Resolve.
  • Added support for Fender Studio on macOS and Windows.
  • Added Sonar and Reason support for ProControl, ProControl Fader Pack, Control 24, Command 8, and C24.
  • Added support for Premiere Pro 2023, 2024, and 2025 on macOS.
  • Added a Logic Pro Protocol preference, replacing the IPv6 checkbox. Choose Default for macOS Tahoe and later, or IPv4 Localhost or IPv6 for macOS Sequoia and earlier.
  • Added Open Troubleshooting Guide to the menu on macOS and Windows, replacing Show log file. In this version it opens the log file instead of the troubleshooting guide. Fixed in 3.2.2.

Changed

  • FaderPort 8/16 mode buttons were reworked. Navigation now defaults to Bank.
  • C24 fader taper is recalibrated for Pro Tools and Logic Pro.
  • The Windows installer no longer requires a restart, requests administrator privileges so BOME MIDI installs correctly, and offers to open the online user guide when it finishes. Uninstalling removes all V-Control Pro BOME MIDI ports.

Fixed

  • FaderPort 8: fixed switching between Pan, Sends, and Plug-in modes.
  • FaderPort 8/16: track focus no longer presses an insert twice when changing banks.
  • D-Command MIDI Mode was always active.
  • Command 8 with Pro Tools: fixed Bank, Nudge, and Zoom, and improved V-Window mode.
  • C24 with Pro Tools: fixed the Clear Clip button.
  • Logic Pro with C24, Control 24, Command 8, and D-Command: fixed plug-in, send, and channel edit displays and bank mode selection.
  • Digital Performer: C24 can switch to MIDI Mode, and Control 24 no longer gets stuck in MIDI Mode.
  • Fixed one-way control when used with other HUI devices.
  • Pro Tools on Windows: modifier buttons now match Pro Tools, and fixed plug-in control.
  • Windows: user account names with non-ASCII characters work, and the About box shows the correct version.

Apple M1 systems now supported for Logic Pro X. Other DAWs probably probably will work, but Cubase/Nuendo will not.

Logic Pro X users must delete their old surfaces in Control Surfaces / Setups… Logic Pro X 10.6 does not properly refresh a new control surface when it is added. Please close and re-open your project.

V-Control Pro 2.7.3 is compatible with Logic Pro X 10.6 and later only. If you are using version 10.5 or earlier, please install V-Control Pro 2.7.2.

For Logic Pro X, V-Control Pro 2.7.3 does not support multiple ProControl Fader Pack devices at this time. If you have multiple Fader Packs, you must use V-Control Pro 2.7.2, which will only work on Intel Macs. At this time, multiple Fader Pack units are not supported on Apple M1 Mac systems.
